What we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Last updated 22 October 2026.

The short version

  • We collect very little. Your name, work email, organisation, and the documents you send us.
  • We use it to do the job. To make your Easy Read document, send it to you, invoice you and answer your emails.
  • We ask for blank templates. We don't want participants' personal information, and we never copy it into anything we make.
  • This website doesn't track you. No cookies, no analytics, no advertising pixels.

What we collect

When you email us or order a document, we keep your name, your work email address, your organisation's name and anything you choose to tell us. We also keep the documents you send, your logo, and our invoices to you.

We ask for blank templates rather than signed copies. If a document does include someone's personal details, we won't copy them into the Easy Read version.

How we use it

We use your details to reply to you, make and deliver your documents, send invoices and keep the business records the law requires. If we email you about our services, we only use business addresses your organisation has published on its own website, and every email tells you how to stop hearing from us.

Who else sees it

We don't sell or rent your information, and we never show your documents to other customers or use them to promote our business without your permission.

Like most businesses, we use everyday services to run the business: email, file storage, and software tools, including AI writing tools, that help draft the plain language and lay out the pages. The text of a document may pass through those services while we work on it, and some of the companies that run them store information outside Australia. That's another reason we ask for blank templates.

The company that hosts this website keeps standard technical records of visits, such as your internet address and the page you asked for, so it can keep the site running and protect it from attacks. We don't use those records to identify you.

How long we keep it

We delete the original documents you send once the job is finished. We keep a copy of the finished Easy Read document, and our emails and invoices, for our business records.

Your choices

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it. Email hello@clearpages.com.au and we'll reply within 5 business days.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, email us first and we'll try to put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
